The courts in the interpretational process have scrutinised diverse amendments from time to time and have finally opined that while the Parliament of India has the power to amend any and every article of the Constitution, it cannot amend the basic feature thereof.

The National Democratic Alliance Government has set up a commitee consisting, by and large, of legal experts and has sought from them the review of the working of the Constitution, without indicating as to what issues they should ponder over and render their suggestions.
