Prime Minister Approves Results Framework Documents Development

India Government Departments, numbering 59, are developing Results Framework Documents to enhance the functioning altogether. It indicates the modern methodology and high tech management and monitoring system will be used in Government machinery. A flavor of top corporate culture and accountability in Government Machinery seems coming on way.

Under implementation of 1st phase of Comprehensive Performance Monitoring & Evaluation System (PMES) the RFD has been approved by the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh.

In phased manner the PMES will be gradually extended to all Government Departments of India.

The annual Performance Management tools are set in Results Framework Documents which includes -

The near term objectives of the departments,
The actions to achieve these objectives to be taken by the departments, and
A system for monitoring the department’s progress through success indicators

The Cabinet Secretariat of Government of India is looking into the PMES matters.
